Our site is not only limited to manage Vedado and Nuevo Vedado areas. It also manages the home rental and sales in the remaining of Plaza municipality. The main advantage of this zone is that, still being central, the prices are more accessibles.
An Essential Description of Plaza
Plaza is a municipality of Havana City which also includes the Vedado and Nuevo Vedado districts, but, normally, when we are speaking about Plaza, we mean the remaining part of the municipality without counting these.
Even if these remaining districts were eclipsed by the popularity of Vedado and Nuevo Vedado, these still have important and known places. For example, among Plaza de la Revolución, the Carlos III Avenue, the Ayestarán street, all the zone called "Boyeros y Tulipán" and others, there are places not only famous, but also prestigious. And, sure, less expensive.
The Advantages to Stay in Plaza
We agree that Plaza is not the most centric place of Havana, if prestige is involved, but, from the geographic point of view, it's surely centric. Because you are really at the center of everything! In fact, if you check the image below, inside the red triangle is located the zone we are talking about. The green line delimitated the urban limit between Centro Habana and Plaza minicipalities (the Plaza side is the most important in this discussion).
The position of the triangle is not 100% accurate. It might also involve the upper zone a little as well, but the most important is the central idea. This zone of Plaza corresponds to an area which starts from the Carlos III Avenue and ends in the zone of Boyeros where the Onmibus Terminal and the Tullipan and Ayestaran crossroads are located.
The advantages to stay in this zone are multiple:
- The average prices of a room in casas particulares are 25 cucs per day or even less, instead of the 30 or 35 in other more popular zones.
- It is very close to Centro Habana and Old Havana, practically 5 minutes away in any taxi.
- It is very close to the El Vedado district, practically 5 minutes away in any taxi.
- It is very easy to get a taxi in this place and you will also finds many transportation variants, such as buses, personal, collective, or route taxis.
- There are easy routes of these transportations either for the Vedado or for the Old Havana.
- This zone is very active, you will find many places where to eat, buy or entertain without having to go in Old Havana or Vedado.
